So I just want to thank the Federal Governement for really giving back on the taxes this year. I was able to feel like a real adult and purchase a couch for our house. I wish that was the end of that story. Apparently a full couch, still inside the box, does not travel well on top of a Jetta on a windy day. My roomates insisted we try rather than pay the fee for delivery. As you can see from the pictures, we started at IKEA with it still in the box, but by the time we got home the box had been abandoned on the side of Baltimor-Washington Parkway. Good news is that the family room looks great....

Back on the Map
Just fininshing up another set of conferences, meaning I will be emerging from my black hole of no contact with the outside world soon. Just a few pics of our last Boat Cruise on the Potomoc, we got lucky, it was the Cherry Blossom Festival this past week and we got a fireworks show that night, we convinced the scholars that it was for them and the large amount of money they had to pay to come to the conference was partly for the fireworks.....go with it.

Winter Wonderland?
So it started snowing friday. 20 inches fell. Saturday came and everyone assumed the storm had passed. We were wrong, "Snowcopalyse" as the local news stations are calling it, is now experiencing part 2. Lucky us. Another 10 inches fell in the last day. On top of what had already covered the ground, and the wind is getting vicious. Therefore we have been reduced to being stranded at work, with 8 students left here. Transportaion has stopped, Businesses closed, even the Federal Governemnt has stopped, for 6 days now. Armageddon? It has been days since we really left the building, luckily our meals and beds and pay are still being provided. Worst things have happened, We have gone down in history. (These pics are from Part 1, it is too fierce outside to get Part 2 pics just yet.)

Vegas Loves Us!
Nothing Like a couple of Mormons in Vegas for New Years. Matt and I decided Dec. 30 that we would liek to go visit our teacher friends in Sin City so we made a 24-hour round trip to see these 2 pretty ladies. We got to eat at our favorite restaurant, Maggianos, celebrate on the grounds of the Bellagio with so many crazy people and watch about 4 fireworks shows at once, and the Bellagio fountains right next to us!! And I won $5 on slots, (I even bragged to a girl in the cashiers line who had only won .82 cents) The night went splendid......as usual, Vegas Loves Us!

Progress
Big life moment, deserves a blog. I was hired to work for the summer at an NGO in Washington D.C called NYLC (National Youth Leadership Conference). I am excited and intimidated. Not completely sure what I just got myself into. But I have had the dream of working in ed
ucation in D.C. when I graduate and look I am doing it, hopefully I can make this last longer than just the summer. Other good news, I had a shopping spree yesterday to buy "adult clothes", and I am doing my best to look like Michelle O, since we will basically be rubbing shoulders (although hers are a bit more toned than mine). So 3 more days and I will be hopping on over to other coast!
